Starlite 55-XD hubs elevate performance and versatility for racing applications that require uncompromised strength without excessive additional weight. At just over 7 pounds, the 55-XD achieves it superior strength and modest weight through a highly efficient redesign of racing’s most popular wide 5 hub, the Starlight 55. The 55-XD employs a bolt-on rotor mount plate that adds overall strength by eliminating the brake torque loading from the main hub body, by taking the stress loads of the braking torque out of the hub body and moving it to the thicker, stronger section of the hub near the inner wheel bearing, provides a measurable decrease in stress deflection in the body.

Our Starlite 55 & 55XD Dust Cap for Cambered Drive Flanges is punched from a thick steel plate for strength and durability. This cap won’t distort, crack or leak after repeated use and is plated for corrosion resistance. Cap kit contains sealing o-ring.

Replacement rotor adapter for Wilwood Starlite XD55 hubs. Adapter is supplied with a 5 x 4.50” bolt pattern for hub mounting and a dual 8 x 7.00” dynamic or fixed bolt pattern for rotor mounting. Made from high strength aluminum alloy and hard anodized for wear resistance.

Dynamic Lug Mount Rotor Adapter for for Starlite 55XD Wide 5 Racing Hubs. With a hub mount bolt circle of 5 x 4.50” and will mount any 8 lug, 7.18"" snap ring rotor. Made from high strength aluminum alloy with a corrosion and wear resistant Type III hard anodize finish. Use 300-12561 Snap Ring and Wear Plate Kit to attach rotors.

Wilwood Disc Brakes Releases Starlite 55XD Lug-Drive Wide 5 Race Hubs

Wilwood Racing has engineered an innovative new Lug-Drive dynamic-mount rotor system specifically for the lighter, stronger Starlite 55XD Wide 5 hubs. The 55XD design shaves weight by mounting the forged aluminum rotor adapter closer to the hub’s reinforced center using fewer mounting bolts. The new Lug-Drive system simplifies rotor mounting using a snap ring in place of bolts and safety wire, allowing it to float and heat cycle without distortion for a more consistent pedal feel and longer life.
