Ford built the original Bronco in 1966 to be a formable off-road vehicle able to compete with the likes of the Jeeps, Internationals’ Scout and Land Rovers. Ford built an entirely original platform borrowing only a few parts from the F-100 truck. The early Bronco was designed with a short wheel base utilizing a multi-link coil-spring front suspension. The design produced an off-road vehicle with great wheel travel and a tight turning radius. The timeless ascetics, backed by a solid foundation, have made the first generation of Broncos a favorite in the off-road and aftermarket industries. The Bronco received a major redesign in 1979. It was shorter and had cosmetic changes along with powertrain and suspension. In 1983 the Bronco II was introduced that offered 4-wheel drive as an option.

Wilwood has engineered a number of bolt-on big brake kits to greatly enhance the braking performance of the Bronco. Select your Bronco model and generation above to find a complete big brake conversion kit.
