Forged Superlite 4R Big Brake Front Brake Kit (Race) Description

This kit is configured for dedicated road racing on all 1982-92 Camaros and Firebirds using the OE factory single piston caliper spindles that have been modified to accept the Wilwood caliper brackets. The four piston FSL4R/ST calipers used in this kit feature a forged aluminum body with a Type III Mil-Spec hard anodized, medium gray color finish. Hard anodizing provides superior wear resistance in the piston bores, and high resistance to abrasion and corrosion throughout. Thermlock® pistons are used to reduce heat transfer from the pads to increase fade resistance, and to extend service life by decreasing temperatures in the caliper body, fluid, and seals. Internal damper springs and controlled retraction, high-temperature piston seals assure consistent pedal height from start to finish. Caliper piston volumes are matched for full compatibility with the OE power brake booster and master cylinder, and are easily configured with manual brake conversions and balance bar pedals using appropriately sized master cylinders. Spec37 alloy GT competition series 12.19” diameter directional vane rotors provide high cooling efficiency with rugged durability and thermal stability in sustained high heat competition. Unsprung and rotating weight are minimized using forged aluminum hubs and rotor mounting hats for assembly onto the spindles. Mounting brackets, including all premium grade fasteners, secure the calipers in the stock location, after the required spindle modifications have been completed. A detailed illustration of the required modifications can be found on page 2 of the assembly instructions. This championship proven system is completed with high temperature, high friction, endurance race compound pads selected specifically by application. Stainless steel braided flexlines are included in each kit to complete the installation.

Dynamic rotor mounting adapters with t-nuts promote less distortion due to temperature and extends rotor life. Forged billet DPL four piston calipers mount directly to the spindle with an aluminum bolt-on brackets. Forged billet, five lug hubs with direct mount steel rotors combine to provide an average weight savings of over 30 pounds compared to stock drum or disc brakes. D154 Front Caliper Kit Description

Wilwood's D154 Front Caliper Kit is a direct bolt-on 1 or 2 piston, lightweight, high-strength, extreme duty alternative to the OE cast iron "Metric" calipers that were used on a wide range of factory disc brake equipped mid size GM cars and small trucks beginning in 1978. Use of this caliper can still be found on some GM models as late as the year 2002. Forged billet aluminum bodies, stainless steel pistons, and competition style high-temperature seals put an end to the rust, bore pitting, and seal failures that plague the OE caliper design. D154 calipers provide low-maintenance performance and a huge weight savings with high temperature reliability for the street and track. D154 calipers mount in the stock location over stock rotors; use the original style OE D154 brake pads and an OE M10-1.5 banjo bolt brake line mounting. D154 Calipers can be used with most wheels that clear the OE calipers. The front calipers with 2.50” piston provide 4.90 square inches of piston area per caliper, in order to maintain the original front to rear brake bias and use of the OE master cylinder. The D154 is also available in a two piston version with 1.62 pistons, offering 4.12 square inches of area. Kits contain Wilwood’s hardened slide pins and BP-10 high friction pads. Matching rear calipers are also available for custom installations. Custom stainless steel brake lines are also available.
