Wilwood has created a new rotor burnishing process to save racers time, improve performance, and increase the life expectancy of iron rotors.

The proprietary process has been proven superior to traditional bedding via testing on dynos, track days, road racing, and pavement oval racing. The process removes impurities and oils introduced during machining, ensuring a race-ready, heat-cycled surface. Wilwood’s burnishing process saves wear and tear on the rotor by not subjecting it to unnecessary or excessive heat cycles, adding to usable life.

Racers will experience race-ready brakes that come in immediately, no matter what pad compound is used. This eliminates all pre-bedding processes, saving track time, tire wear, driver attention, and fuel, letting your team focus on set up and other preparation — just install and race.

Wilwood’s rotor part numbers ending with “-B” will designate the burnished process will be included, or an upgrade part number “UPGRADE BURNISH RTR” may be used on any Wilwood Spec37 rotor to have the burnishing process applied.
